Ingredients

  • 150g of mung beans
  • 50g of sweet corn
  • 150g of sugar
  • 1 liter of water
  • Pandan leaves (optional)
  • Coconut milk (optional)

Instructions

Now that you have all your ingredients, let's get started on making some delicious bubur kacang ijo jagung!

Step 1: Preparing the Mung Beans

Clean the mung beans thoroughly and soak them in water for about an hour or two. Drain the beans and set them aside.

Step 2: Boiling the Mung Beans and Sweet Corn

Pour the 1 liter of water in a pot and bring it to a boil. Add the drained mung beans and sweet corn into the pot and let it simmer for about 30 minutes or until the mung beans and sweet corn are tender. Don't forget to stir occasionally.

Step 3: Adding the Sugar

Once the mung beans and sweet corn are tender, add the sugar and continue to stir until the sugar dissolves. Remember to taste the sweetness of the dish, if you like it sweeter, add more sugar to suit your taste buds. Add some pandan leaves to give it a nice aroma.

Step 4: Adding the Coconut Milk (optional)

If you want, you can add some coconut milk to make the dish creamier, but this is optional. Stir well and let it simmer for about 5 more minutes.

Step 5: Serving the Bubur Kacang Ijo Jagung
